Description Graham Farish 377-575D IIA Bogie Hopper Wagon GBRf (VTG) Silver - N Gauge The IIA Bogie Hopper Wagons started life as HYA Coal Hoppers, introduced from 2007 to deliver the fuel needed to run coal-fired power stations. However, as the UK transitioned away from using coal as the fuel for its power stations, the wagons became redundant and were re-employed on biomass trains, being recoded as IIAs in the process. The imposing wagons are reproduced faithfully in N scale using an injection moulded bodyshell, complete with interior partitions within the hopper, and hopper doors suspended from the underframe. Further details are added in the form of handwheels, lamp irons, buffers and separate pipe runs, and metal weights are fitted above each bogie for smooth and assured running. Those bogies are finely-moulded replicas of the prototype, fitted with metal wheelsets and with standard N scale couplings fitted into the NEM coupling pockets. Owned by VTG Rail but operated by GBRf, the real wagons had a bare metal finish which is replicated on the Graham Farish model along with GBRf and VTG branding.
